Payments are usually made continuously. However, some employees may receive a lump sum payment. The total amount given depends on the employee's wages, the severity of the injury incurred and their impairment rating. These can be followed by smaller monthly payments. This is usually the case of a permanent disability that does not allow the worker to return to his usual work activities.

In the case of payments for partial impairment, payments are limited to an amount that will not exceed the maximum payment that the employee can earn. It is also limited to the number of weeks by which the employee can be paid. If the impairment allows the employee to return to work but at a lower capacity, the difference in payment is made through workers' compensation benefits.

In some situations, the employer's workers' compensation insurance company will dispute the claim of the injured worker. If the injury or illness is valid, the employee may consider seeking professional assistance to represent their claim. An Internet search will reveal a plethora of legal practices dedicated to workplace injuries.

So far, the compensation benefits have been described in detail, but it is impossible to create a clear picture of the worker's puzzle if we do not talk about the medical provider.
